Building financial confidence in young people across Leeds through practical, engaging education
In 2014, we noticed a troubling pattern. Young adults were entering university and the workforce without basic financial knowledge. Many had never balanced an account, understood interest rates, or planned a budget.
The consequences were real: student debt mismanagement, predatory lending, and missed opportunities. We knew education had to start earlier, before habits formed and mistakes became costly.
So we created programmes that meet children and teenagers where they are, using language and scenarios that resonate with their actual lives.
Financial education shouldn't feel like a lecture. We use interactive methods: simulations, games, group challenges, and real-world problem-solving.
Every session is designed to spark curiosity rather than memorization. Students leave with practical tools they can use immediately, whether that's negotiating pocket money or evaluating a mobile phone contract.
Our instructors are qualified teachers and youth workers, not financial advisors trying to teach. We understand pedagogy, child development, and how to engage reluctant learners.
Over 500 students have completed our programmes since 2014. Follow-up surveys show lasting behavior change: 82% report improved saving habits six months after completion.
We work with local schools, community centers, and youth organizations across Leeds. Financial education should be accessible regardless of family income or background.
We bring together educators, finance professionals, and child psychologists. Each instructor holds enhanced DBS clearance and has extensive experience working with young people.
Our curriculum development team constantly updates content to reflect new technologies, changing economic conditions, and evolving student needs. What worked in 2014 won't necessarily work today.
Join hundreds of Leeds families who have given their children the gift of financial literacy.
